Meet the Artist

Beena McMahan enjoyed drawing and painting since she was a child.  She continued making cards and gifts for loved ones into adulthood.  After pursuing an unrelated career path for almost 20 years, she gained interest and commission requests after making portraits for a fundraiser.  This prompted her to seriously consider artwork as a career. She began making colored pencil artwork and then expanded into larger scale paintings and murals.

She considers the common thread between her past work in the legal field and her current work as an artist is both involve conveying a story and connecting with others.  Art can tell a story by honoring a loved one, memorializing a special moment, or inspiring a mood.  For her original artwork, she enjoys finding beauty in the ordinary, and she is inspired by reflecting on the splendor of God's creation. She is based near St. Louis, Missouri, and travels within the local St. Charles County and St. Louis County areas for onsite mural work.  She also ships nonmural commissions, original art, and fine art prints nationwide.
